Seoul: Oodles of Flying Drones Showing Gratitude for Frontline Workers

During the hassle of the coronavirus pandemic, South Korea’s government made sure that people working under these circumstances are appreciated.

On July 4, 300 drones flew above the Han River in Seoul to thank frontline workers and motivate citizens to be more patient and respect the preventative measures such as washing hands and maintaining social distancing.

“Thanks to you” was one of the cheerful and heart-melting messages. The 10 minutes show has also displayed colorful images including a mask surrounded by coronavirus particles and figures of medical workers, who have done the most important part in the battle.

“Cheer up, Republic of Korea” is also one of the messages displayed in the dark sky.

The show has been a surprise for the South Koreans. The government has not announced it in advance so as to avoid the risk of people gathering together in the streets.

Although the virus is still spreading, South Korea has been listed as an example thanks to its actions and the efforts made during the pandemic.

Recruiting 2400 health workers in order to increase the medical team’s capacity is a good case in point.

Not to mention, the testing centers which have been established to identify the patients as soon as possible.

The show has been an exciting way to console the citizens and encourage them during these tough times.
